Active engagement
River Arts Creative Campus
with River Arts District Artists (RADA) · Asheville, North Carolina
Following Hurricane Helene, 2024

Context
In 2024, Hurricane Helene flooded Asheville's River Arts District, damaging studios and displacing the artists who worked there. River Arts District Artists (RADA) is working toward the River Arts Creative Campus — a permanent home for art, resilience, and community.
REGN's role
REGN is a consultant on the development of the River Arts Creative Campus. MountainTrue is the on-site partner and project manager. REGN's work supports RADA's own vision for the campus rather than substituting for it.
Approach
- —Listen first — begin from what the artists and RADA already know they need.
- —Support community engagement, including charrette-based sessions that surface a shared vision.
- —Synthesize that input into spatial and planning material the partners can carry forward.
- —Build on the work of RADA and MountainTrue rather than replacing it.
Status
The engagement is active. Specific project figures are pending confirmation for public use and are not published here.
